Smokey Sirloin Burgers with Blue Cheese

Ingredients
2 tablespoons butter
1 medium red onion, thinly sliced
1 teaspoon
Spice Islands Garlic Pepper
1-1/2 pounds ground sirloin
4 teaspoons
Spice Islands Garlic Pepper
1/2 teaspoon
Spice Islands Old Hickory Smoked Salt
2 ounces blue cheese crumbles
4 Kaiser buns, toasted
Directions
Pre-heat grill to medium-high heat. Place a medium skillet off to one side of the grill. Melt butter in skillet; add onions and sprinkle with 1 teaspoon garlic pepper seasoning. Sauté onions until tender, about 7 to 10 minutes.
Combine ground sirloin, 4 teaspoons of garlic pepper seasoning, and smoked salt in a bowl and mix thoroughly. Form seasoned sirloin into 4 evenly sized patties. Place burgers on grill; cover and grill 7 to 10 minutes or until internal temperature reaches a minimum of 165ºF.
Place grilled burgers in bottom portion of buns. Cover each burger with equal amounts of sautéed onions and blue cheese. Top with bun and serve.
