Artisan Toasts for Any Meal

There's a reason why artisan toasts are all the rage — they are easy to assemble and with so many options, they can be devoured for breakfast, lunch or a snack. They can walk the sweet side or be purely savory — whatever you desire. Here are six artisan toast ideas to whip up in no time:

Smoked Paprika Hummus with Cucumber Slices and Olives

Toast a piece of whole-wheat bread. Layer with the already-prepared Smoked Paprika Hummus, a blend of garbanzo beans, tahini, Spice Islands® Smoked Paprika and Spice Islands® Ground Cumin. Top with thinly sliced cucumbers and chopped black olives.

Vanilla Cream with Peaches and Blueberries

Mix together the cream cheese, marshmallow crème and vanilla extract as directed for the Vanilla Cream Dip. Toast sourdough bread slices before topping with vanilla cream, peach slices and blueberries.

French Cheese Spread with Smoked Salmon and Pickled Red Onion Slices

Make the French Cheese Spread, chilling the mixture a minimum of four hours, so the spices meld together. Lightly pickle red onion slices by adding to a small bowl with equal parts sugar and white vinegar (for example: ¼ cup sugar to ¼ cup vinegar). Let onions sit for 10 to 15 minutes. Toast a piece of pumpernickel bread; spread with the cheese spread and top with pickled red onions and generous amounts of smoked salmon.

Cinnamon Apples with Vanilla Honey Butter

Thinly slice an apple or two and sauté in butter with a touch of cinnamon and sugar over medium-high heat until soft. Slather a toasted piece of cinnamon-raisin bread with Vanilla Honey Butter, and pile on the apples. Or, for a simpler route, place raw apple slices onto the buttered toast, and sprinkle with a little cinnamon.

Roast Beef with Blue Cheese and Horseradish

As the Blue Cheese Horseradish Sauce recipe instructs, combine sour cream, blue cheese and horseradish with Spice Islands® Beau Monde Seasoning and Spice Islands® Parsley. After ingredients are chilled, gently spread onto thickly sliced bread, like Texas Toast or brioche. Top with an abundance of roast beef slices and chopped canned roasted red peppers.

Avocado with Mango Rum Chutney

Make the tropical Mango Rum Chutney ahead of time, letting it chill before using. Onto any type of toasted bread, like whole-wheat or white, fan out the slices from half an avocado. Sprinkle with sea salt, and top with Mango Rum Chutney, for a unique spin on the popular avocado toast.
