The earthy addition to so many dishes.

Ground Cumin Seed
(cuminum cyminum)
Cumin, Ground

An essential part of curries and chili con carne, cumin is one of the most widely used spices in the world. Outside of the U.S., it’s nearly as popular as black pepper.

We source our Spice Islands® cumin seeds from India, where the most flavorful cumin is grown. Indian cumin is spicy and sweet with a rich warmth.

Fun Fact: Though the two spices taste nothing alike, cumin seeds and caraway seeds have been confused throughout history, in part because the Indian word jeera is used for both caraway and cumin.

Our Ground Cumin is only cumin. Spice Islands® spices and herbs don’t contain added sugar, fillers or other ingredients so you get the most authentic flavor every time.
