Used in cooking since 1600 BC, sesame seeds are a favorite of bakers. Their mild, nutty flavor complements breads, pastries, cakes and cookies especially well. They also make a nice addition to savory dishes and are a key ingredient in Asian, Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine.

When sourcing our Spice Islands® sesame seed, we look for seeds that have creamy white color and a mild, nutty flavor.

Use them right out of the jar or toast them lightly to intensify their flavor.

Fun Fact: According to Assyrian legend, the gods imbibed sesame wine before creating the earth.

Our Sesame Seed is only sesame seed. Spice Islands® spices and herbs don’t contain added sugar, fillers or other ingredients so you get the most authentic flavor every time.
