Glazed Pepper Nuts

2 cups


6 tablespoons sugar

4 teaspoons Spice Islands® Fennel Seed

4 to 5 teaspoons Spice Islands® Crushed Red Pepper

2 teaspoons salt

2 cups whole nuts, unsalted (almonds, cashews OR pecans)

2 tablespoons water


Preheat oven to 325ºF. Line a baking sheet with foil; spray with cooking spray.

Combine sugar, fennel seeds, crushed red pepper and salt in a medium-sized bowl. Mix in nuts and water. Stir to evenly coat. Spread mixture on prepared baking sheet in a single layer. Bake about 15 minutes, stirring frequently, until nuts are a deep golden brown. Cool. Separate nuts with fork.

Note: Reduce salt to 1 teaspoon if using lightly salted nuts.
