Native to the Mediterranean, sage is actually a member of the mint family. It has a warm and spicy, almost balsamic flavor that makes it a natural match for meats and stuffings.
Our Spice Islands® sage is lightly ground and passed through a coarse sieve, a process known as rubbing. Quite potent, it should be used sparingly or in dishes with longer cooking times.
