Southwestern Chicken Pasta Recipe

Delicious Southwestern Chicken Pasta


  • 1 package spaghetti sauce mix, traditional
  • 1-3/4 cup water
  • 1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut in 1/2-inch strips
  • 1 tsp Spice Islands Ground Cumin Seed
  • 1 can (15 ounces) black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1-1/2 cup frozen corn
  • 2 can (4 ounces each) green chilies
  • 12 oz small pasta OR spaghetti, cooked according to package directions


  • 1/8 tsp pepper, red ground
  • 2 tbsp fresh chopped cilantro


  1. Prepare spaghetti sauce mix with water and tomato paste according to package directions. Keep warm.
  2. Heat oil in skillet. Add chicken and stir-fry over medium high heat until meat is cooked through. Add the cooked chicken, cumin, black beans, corn, and chilies to the spaghetti sauce; mix. Heat through.
  3. Serve over hot pasta and sprinkle with ground red pepper and cilantro, if desired.
